SQL to Salesforce for climate justice
Managing around €3 million in annual funding from over 150,000 donors, Greenpeace Netherlands is embarking on a major digital transformation. It was a privilege to support the beginnings of this journey through our Salesforce CRM implementation.
Over the course of 12 months, we replaced the existing ‘on-site’ SQL based database with a scalable Salesforce platform, implementing Accounts, Campaigns, Donors and Donations. In addition, our solution design integrated the SQL database to preserve vital funding data.
SHS provided CRM Consultancy to design and implement the Greenpeace Netherland’s NGO platform. The solution needed to off-board the legacy system whilst integrating seamlessly with the ongoing SQL database. Through careful stakeholder collaboration and interactive User Workshops, we enabled an all-important transformation to the new CRM whilst still maintaining their legacy system in parallel. As the legacy system becomes archived, the Salesforce CRM will become Greenpeace’s sole Source-of-Truth.
We were able to support Greenpeace Netherland’s Digital Transformation through a scalable Salesforce platform capable of allowing them to manage over €3 million annual funding via 150,000 donors by implementing; Contacts, Accounts, Campaigns, Donors and Donations. In addition, because the SQL database continued to hold vital funding data, our solution design integrated that database with the new Salesforce platform.

🙂Greenpeace Netherlands focuses on climate action, nitrogen reduction, and biodiversity protection through legal action, public protest, and research. Based in Amsterdam, it targets industrial emissions, fossil fuels, and agricultural pollution, notably suing the Dutch government over nitrogen crisis mismanagement and the Bonaire Climate Case.
