‘Communities in Focus’ launching in the UK

Over a thousand young people from the most harmful places across the globe have risen out of deprivation as W2S photography graduates. With our Funding Support and CRM Consultancy, W2S will bring the project to young people in the UK over the next 3 years.

SHS is providing services to help build the infrastructure and capacity that will enable the Wembley to Soweto team to realise their ambition of changing the lives of young people across the UK affected by injustice, inequality and violence.

Our collaboration aims to raise over £2m of funding to deliver ‘Communities in Focus UK’ across 20 cities, engaging young creatives from the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods into creative practice and out of unemployment.

We will implement the Salesforce CRM to integrate fundraising, programmes, volunteers and finance operations to ensure effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the project outputs:

✅Engage over 1,000 young people in underserved areas

✅Provide intensive training to 300 participants

✅Reach 3,000 more through outreach workshops

✅Deliver 72 local and 36 citywide exhibitions

✅Tour youth work nationally and internationally each year

✅Support 60 peer mentors

✅Connect participants through a national and international creative network

🙂The Wembley to Soweto Foundation is a registered charity providing intensive photographic training and life-skills to disadvantaged young people globally. Founded in 2010, it empowers young people facing poverty, trauma, and disability by offering professional skills to document their stories and gain employment. Partnering with Leica, the foundation runs international projects and encourages graduates to become trainers, fostering self-belief and creating lasting community impact.
